BMW X7 M50d

BMW X7 M50d

REVIEW

To most, the BMW X5 seems like a fairly big SUV, especially in its latest guise and is considered quite luxurious. But some want more – they want bigger and more luxury – so BMW has finally relented and given us the X7 – think of it as the 7-Series on stilts. It’s bigger in every direction and you certainly won’t miss it coming down the road – its grille is bold to say the least. Oh, and massive, absolutely massive. But of course this is BOTB and this is Pace & Space week, so it couldn’t just be the normal model; this is the M50d. So sitting behind that gargantuan grille is a 3.0 litre turbodiesel engine that has four turbos and puts out 396bhp and a world-rotation-stopping 760Nm of torque. Amazingly this 2.5-tonne behemoth still manages to sprint to 62mph in 5.4 seconds thanks to that engine and it even sounds great doing it. if you want a big SUV that makes a statement – the X7 M50d is the one for you.
